Kheaven links up with the likes of Saukrates, Kardi, Shad, King Reign, KAYTRANADA, Chox and Boi-1da for a new tape called “Views From The Stix”. ‘Bout to take this one in. Here’s all the info:
Multi-platinum recording artist k-os releases his second mixtape, Views from the Stix.
Views from the Stix is a collection of songs created by k-os at his family’s home in the countryside, north of Whitby, Ontario. Completed in only three weeks, the album is composed of free-style verses recorded over demos created during his small-town sabbatical. Taking a page out of the punk rock handbook, each track averages two minutes in length and the album boasts a track list of 15 songs. k-os teams up with some of Toronto’s finest, including Kardinal Offishall, Shad and Saukrates, as well as Canadian super producers Kaytranada and Boi-1da.
Despite the title, k-os insists this is not a spoof project: “There has always been this push and pull as to what is the more authentic hip hop viewpoint. Is it only going to be urban city life? Or can hip hop be authentic no matter where you live? To me, the stix is really just anywhere outside of that conventional city life.”
This mixtape comes to us on the heels of Can’t Fly Without Gravity, the 2015 studio release from k-os. Since his first major label release in 2002, k-os has stood at the forefront of Canadian hip hop, consistently evolving and progressing with his unique genre-bending style.

The Small family doing big things! Ahhhh…..so witty.
You might remember being introduced to Mckenzie Small via her cousin Haley Small. They did a handful of viral cover videos together a couple years back. Fast forward to 2016 and Mckenzie’s got a solo push of her own. Led by the first single / video, “Caught Feelings”.
T i K ▲ and McCallaman link up one mo’ gin to co-celebrate the release of their projects which are both available now. Should be a dope night with the likes of Blues, Sydanie and Monsieur Desire all rounding up the lineup.
Zaki Ibrahim teaches us how to use vocal percussion when writing songs.

Debut long play from the incomparable Tanika Charles. It’s been quite the grind for Mz. Chawls over the years so I can only imagine how this feels for her right about now. Taking this one in over the long weekend for sure.
