NEW VIDEO: Témi – Brick by Brick (Directed by Dominique “DC” Dixon & PJ Woods)

rez | Video | Monday, May 18th, 2015

Oh mannnnn…

Can’t believe this but I’m just realizing that the homie Intro from Untitled has been on his solo push for almost a year now. Don’t know if this means the group has officially broken up but hopefully not as we were definitely rooting for those brothas from TIME.

In any case, Intro now goes by Témi (his government name I believe) and he’s got music + visuals for one full EP plus a 2nd EP which is coming out real soon so I’ma start playing catch up right now by posting his first solo joint from last year and getting everything up over the next week or so…

Shouts to Untitled man. They played a major role in marking a new era of Toronto R&B. “All I Need” still bumps.

rez | Video | Monday, May 18th, 2015

Some truth / inspiration from the youngin’ John River. When I see / hear what this dude is doing I just hope it somehow influences his contemporaries to also speak and think critically about things that are going on in the world. Woulda loved to have a kid like this as a guest on OTA Live…

20 year old rapper John River speaks about doubt, self belief, racism and the perceptions of high school dropout. Follow John at: https://twitter.com/johnriverftc

John River, born Matthew Jonathan Derrick-Huie was raised in Mississauga Ontario. NEW VIDEO: Exclaim! x King Reign: “Sweet 16s” feat. Adam Bomb

Ty Harper | Music,Video | Thursday, May 14th, 2015

Greatness!

“Don’t Believe the Hype” is not only a Public Enemy song, but a philosophy thatAdam Bomb always comes back to when writing straight-up bomb music (a characteristic he’s now been officially recognised for, what with his recent win withNaturally Born Strangers for Rap Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards).

Once again, we’ve collaborated with Reign Media to bring you another episode of Exclaim! TV‘s Sweet 16s. This time, we took the award-winning Toronto emcee into our backyard to perform the sweetest 16 bars he’s ever written.

Before busting out some rhymes from “Tell Me” (a track taken from his SARS 4mixtape), Adam Bomb revealed parts of his personal history to Sweet 16s host King Reign, discussing his initial fascination with drawing tape covers, and how that eventually led him to writing his first rhymes. Later, he discusses creating honest music and shared his top five influences over the years.

Watch Adam Bomb perform his favourite 16 bars in the player below.
