Independent production house AHR Films logs a deft piece on Toronto’s Shaun Boothe, a musician who has chosen to transmute his first album by means of live performance. At the helm of his art’s evolution, Boothe connects with live musicians for a singular show at a venue steeped in the city’s essence: the lofts behind Much Music.

Boothe says, “To me, a big part of survival is evolution.” Together with a seven-piece band he performed his album Waiting Room to spur further creative adaptation. Always embedded in the unfolding scene, Art Honour Respect Films rolled as Boothe and the band sought to raise hip-hop’s high water mark and dilate the bounds of musical expression.
