Keeping up with MTL’s Kaytranada via two joints he dropped recently: “At All” and a remix to Azealia Banks’ “ATM Jam” with Pharrell.

Montreal’s fastest rising producer Kaytranada dropped another gem yesterday, this time a remix of Azealia Banks‘s Pharrell assisted single “ATM Jam”. Premiered by The Fader, this newest remix comes on the heels of other recent remix work and a loose single “At All” premiered last week by Pitchfork, with a video on the way. In a short 24 hours, this latest remix has racked up upwards of 40,000 plays and is gearing up to be a dancefloor favorite for months to come, with The Fader giving praise to the production by adding that “Pharrell’s verse sounds better over Kaytranada’s micro shuffle and muffled claps than it does over Pharrell’s original beat.”
For the past year, the Haitian-born Montreal-based artist has experienced an explosive rise and made a very distinct name for himself with his unique brand of r&b and hip hop inspired dance music, equipped with an undeniable swing of the drums and a signature soulful touch. After self-releasing a couple EPs and beat tapes, followed by a release on HW&W and Jakarta Records, his name began to spread like wildfire with some instant-classic remixes by the likes of Missy Elliot, Janet Jackson, and others. This summer, he was approcahed by Brodinski to drop a single on the hotly-tipped French label Bromance. The result “Free Things In Life” was a huge succes, taking the young man on a sold-out European tour and just recently to Australia as well.
