Kamau‘s latest project (One Day Soon) is so f*ckin’ dope man. You NEED that in your life. This is a really dope piece btw. Shouts to StudioFeed. Here’s the official blurb:
Multi-talented Toronto artist Ian Kamau is one of the city’s most fascinating creative minds. Ian is an “artist” in the fullest sense of the word with art acting as an opportunity to both foster conversations on important social issues and at a more personal level, “to change and evolve and transform us”.
While touring across Canada and Europe, Kamau became disillusioned with the “music industry,” and decided to put his musical projects on hold in order to complete his studies at York University. However, a number of recent releases have signified Kamau’s return to music, the most recent of which is his full-length album, One Day Soon, which was released in the fall of 2011.

Don’t know the specifics about this yet but it seems pretty self-explanatory. On April 10th, the legendary crew Citizen Kane will be releasing some unreleased bangers from the vaults…with a little help from DJ Law. Shouts to Spade and the whole fam.

Same video. Same vocals. Different beat. Well, they made it black and white. And sounds like will.i.am took it back to the pre-“Where Is The Love” B.E.P. Way better version.
Droppin’ Dimez was only one of the very influential radio shows that we lost when CKLN went off the air last year. Great to see then, that they’ve found a new home on CHRY 105.5 FM and will be live every Tuesday night at 11pm…starting tonight!!!
Shouts to JJ Rock and Mel Boogie who definitely play A LOT of local music and support the scene in any way they can. And shouts to every host and DJ that has blessed the Droppin’ Dimez show. The legacy continuessssss…
Should be a dope show tonight, featuring the MCs from the Jane & Finch cypher (info below).
First and foremost – THANK YOU!
To all of you who hit us up via email, text or twitter to say “Welcome Back” to the airwaves – it truly means a lot and we were fully caught off guard with all the congrats coming our way. We kick it off tonight with some fierce MCs from Toronto – get familiar with the names Lola Bunz, BadAs$ Bukk, Rootz and Rushiie Raw….. Those BET Ciphers don’t have a thing on these ladies from Jane and Finch who demolish the mic! Here’s a little something to get you ready >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHEt_bzglII Also, we always rep for the team and welcome the ladies from www.Bad-Perm.com into the booth tonight!

Shi Wisdom and O’Sound go eeeeen with a “Rolling In The Deep” cover over my all time favorite 90’s dancehall riddim – the Bada Bada (and I remember paying a good amount of coin to find the pieces on this riddim too).
SO HAPPY for Melanie man. It’s such an accomplishment to have a sophomore album in today’s musical climate. No easy task. Love that this album is more about her at this moment in time too…rather than paying homage to her influences like her first album was. Big risk on her part to change up the sound but I think it’s gonna pay off for her in more ways than one. CONGRATS MEL! WE LOVE YOU!
