Flutist Jef Kearns and The Beatchild teamed up for a funk driven single (“Play On”) after Jef was called in to do the flute session work on the Slakadeliqs album, “The Other Side of Tomorrow”. Leaving no sonic stone unturned, they took it to Tom Coyne (Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo, Kool and the Gang) for mastering.
Timian (with a vision of dancing buildings and a hand for animation) developed the music video concept along with Jef. Timian created motion graphics and a sense of 3D using two dimensional still photos.
The Bakers Club is proud to present the 6th video from Raz Fresco’s “CakeyPocket$ project “Bakers Psalm”.
The video, directed by Misha Teixeira, takes place on a white backdrop where Raz is in the midst of playing a game of chess, apparently with himself. The chess board in this visual is a representation of life and how we have to play against ourselves and our decisions to get the results we want in the end. Watch the visual below and stay tuned for the final video off of CakeyPocket$ “TDOT PIFFERY“ which will be out shortly.

First introduction to IvanUnknown and his ‘sublime electronic soul’ via two very compelling records: “Make It By” (Produced by LAL’s Murr) and “So Close So Far” (Produced by Middlefield).
I’ve known this guy for yeeeears and he’s been dabbling with the music-thing for a minute, but definitely good to see him putting out new material in 2012.
Looking forward to hearing more!

Eyes+Ears: Vol. 06 – THE PRECIOUS LO’s
Directed by:REYNARD LI
EYES+EARS is a series of motion-based environmental portraits of artists, musicians
and other creative types. It’s a tiny glimpse into their work, their process and the ideas behind what they do and where they create.
Nik Timar and Gil Masuda have been making music together as “Circle Research” for over 20 years. “The Precious Lo’s” is their new vocal-driven project. They are based in Toronto.
Directed by Andre Rehal (“Ghetto”), shot by Xenzo and edited by XCON of Will X Movement (“Stay Me”, “True To You”) , the “Work To Do” music video is the fourth from the musical tag-team of Perfeck Strangers and their debut album on URBNET Records, “Series Premiere”.
A parody of the movie “Office Space”, “Work To Do” stars MeloTel President John Meloche as a Bill Lumbergh-esque version of himself. The short film’s cast also includes the group’s DJ Chef Brown, actress Khalilah Brooks and cameos from some of Toronto’s most skillful, rising hip-hop stars SepTo, Scott Ramirez, Dice Ailes and Conwell (of L.I.U.).
Produced by AmiR and featuring a guitar solo performed by Myles Stefan, the “Work To Do” DJ Pack (including the version with Drake) can be downloaded here: http://www.perfeckstrangers.com/WorkToDo.zip
