Dan-e-o and Promise go back and forth on this soulful joint detailing the lack of love that sometimes exists within the various relationships we have – be they with your girl, your boys or your father figures.

First (re)introduction to Stephen Murray (brother of Lal and Da Grassroots co-founder Murr) under his new aka: Phen Ray. As an artist this dude’s played/produced/worked with the likes of k-Os, Doc McKinney, Nelly Furtado, Kelis and Shawn Hewitt.
Here’s a proven fact: Kids are hilarious. Absolutely. Hilarious. So when my little sister’s teacher asked me to be a guest reader to her fourth grade class, I was in from the jump. I signed in at the office, filled out my nametag and called Bronze about grabbing some Pho when I was done. We’d been spit balling ideas for a new Sky Light treatment but nothing seemed to be sticking lately. Two Robert Munsch books later, I knew these kids had magic written all over ’em. Riding high off secret handshakes and fart jokes, I met Bronze down the street and we hit the ground running, vibing out like we used to when we were little kids growing up together. A couple coconut milkshakes later and we knew exactly where this video was going. Scribbled out across the tablecloth, it was clear this was a gift from the cosmos.
Everybody was in, all 28 of us. With a month left ’till summer break, it was crunch time in the lunch line. After some heavy fly girl research with our good friend Caitriona and some solid two stepping over the weeks that followed, we had it locked and ready to ride.
Cut to the last day of school. A ferryboat to freedom. Notes playing chaperone. Humid as a mother out. Ragweed in full bloom. Socks and shoes off. A whole lot of Parachute, followed by some Cat and Mouse. Man Hunt in the mega maze. SKY LIGHT ALL DAY.
