NEW MUSIC: A-Game “DON” (EP)

Ty Harper | Album,Audio,Music | Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

New sounds from The Twins!

Known for their brief hiatuses, Nov and Chase left us with the gritty visuals for the intro to their EP, ‘I Will’. Directed by iiivivkarats and Zac Facts, A-Game returns to their old stomping grounds of Scarborough, Canada to release their lyrical frustrations and such! Today they drop their latest project Double or Nothing aka DON. The 7 track compilation sets the tone for the cool, laid back and mature sounds the twins have adapted over the last few years, since their highly playful single “Money Made Me Do It”. Listen while these Cool Boyz surf over the production of Nikhil. S, Bass Line, Jazzfeezy, Doc Jones and Chef Byer.

Tobias., (formerly known as Bias Truth) is proud to premiere a new 10 song EP in conjunction with Artistic Manifesto titled,“Blessing In This Art.”  The God Fearing Creative hailing from Toronto strengthens the case for Canada’s rapidly budding music scene with this highly impressive debut project under his newly embraced birth/stage name.  Blessing In This Art is a consciously crafted response to the variety of obstacles, experiences and blessings/curses that life often presents us with.
Tobias. uses the project and its subject matter to serve as a testament to his ability to find a true state of motivation and happiness through the balance of living life and creating music. It’s hard to be YOU in such a place, but I try my best to see the “Blessing” in it all.”

Be sure to give the project a proper listen as it’s well worth checking out. The official visuals for the project’s lead single, “Lost It” will be released next week, along with the launch of his new website. NEW ALBUM: Jazz Cartier “Hotel Paranoia”

Ty Harper | Album,Audio,Music | Monday, February 1st, 2016

New album. New tour. Enjoy!

Today, Cartier announces dates for his first headlining European tour this spring, which include performances in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Brussels – just to name a few. There will also be an upcoming New York City show at renowned hip?hop venue, SOB’s, on Feb. 25th. In line with Cartier’s enigmatic nature, the surprise release of Hotel Paranoia arrived in the form of a carefully thought?out social media campaign. His fans were directed to his newly revamped website, where they would sign up to receive a cryptic “telegram” for 13 nights leading up to the debut. This viral guessing game created a frenzy on social media.

2015 was a huge year for Jazz Cartier. Marauding in Paradise received a score of 7.3 from the notoriously critical Pitchfork, a best 2015 album nod from Pigeons and Planes and a long?list nomination for the renowned Canadian Polaris Music Prize. The mixtape was “a tough, layered coming of age story stuffed with paranoid retellings of late nights and dark schemes, all braided over gut?punching beats.” (The Fader) In addition to the highly?acclaimed release, Jazz Cartier performed sold out shows in Europe and Canada, as well as headlined his Paradise Express Tour in the U.S. The tour included a special, sold?out performance in Los Angeles, in partnership with Red Bull Sound Select, where he “ won over the crowd with his fan favorites ‘Dead Or Alive’ and ‘Stick & Move’” (Vibe). His 2016 kick?off, homecoming show in Toronto on Feb. 5, immediately sold out to a 1,200 seat venue in 24 hours.

While Cartier is known for his eloquence in storytelling, both lyrically and visually, he is equally known for his electrifying live performances. His adrenaline pumping shows tend to veer towards a punk rock ethos than your traditional rap performance. Currently, Cartier’s focus is on music, but has been featured on trendy menswear sites, including Hypebeast and Hypetrak, for his signature, stylish flair. Jazz Cartier, born Jaye Adams, has “confidently carved his own lane” (Complex) when it comes to separating himself from his contemporaries such as Travi$ Scott and A$AP Rocky. While Jazz Cartier’s heart bleeds Toronto, his sound is derived from traveling and living in far and disparate places such as Kuwait, Maine, Idaho, Connecticut, Houston, Atlanta, Barbados and Virginia.

2016 will be a banner year for Jazz Cartier. January alone included a week?long recording session with Mike Will Made It at Red Bull’s recording studio in Los Angeles and a trip to Venice, Italy to film the music video for “Opera.” Cartier, a Renaissance artist of his generation, cultivates a sound that inject intellect and imagination, setting the new standard for artistic creation. Stay tuned for more exclusives.
