Based on what’s been ‘leaked’ and his 10 year track record I think it’s safe to say this Marco Polo album is gna be pretty tight.
With the fifth and final leak before Marco Polo drops his highly-anticipated free-LP, Newport Authority 2, Marco states “I did a remix for “Stand Up” off the brand new Adrian Younge presents The Delfonics project (who am I big fan of, y’all should cop anything he’s a part of.) Adrian sent me the album early and I made this beat. Tragedy was originally gonna lay down one verse on this on some freestyle sh*t, but once I started hearing his bars I refused to let this be a one verse song! Three verses later and appropriate hook by Slap aka Fizzy Womack aka Lil Fame we have the “Stand Up” remix. Tragedy will have an alternate version of this song on his upcoming album as well. Catching up with Caliph and his “Lead With…” series of EPs.
“Lead With Love” is my first EP from the “Lead With” series. My mission for this series is teach people what RiseOrDie means in depth and what the RiseOrDie Life stands for. Each EP (or EPisode) provides the tools needed to achieve that standard of living. What better way to start off the series than to start with the first thing that started me on my path, Love. My love for music was what eventually led me to start creating my own, which in turn, shaped the person I am today. Love is at the core in everything that I do. But Love is just one (maybe the most important) of the many things needed to reach our full potentials.
Each track emulates love in different ways. Weither directly, indirectly, or emotionally. Not a single joint is about the love between women and man, too cliché.
“Lead With Honor” is the second drop from the “Lead With” series. Honor is another essential tool I’ve discovered on my journey thus far. Honor your mind, body and soul. Sometimes that’s easier said than done because we all have our faults but recognizing them is progress. Some of the experiences I went through to discover this way of thinking are included on this tape. I had to go through what I went through to get here, No regrets. Enjoy
