These young’ns got potential, we’ve been following them for a minute now, but I’m definitely not for the misogyny on this one ….. and it’s not like this is the worst thing we’ve ever posted, and I ain’t trying to single these dudes out cuz trust me, I struggle with the poisonous nature of hip-hop whenever we post a song or an album or a video with these normalized displays of sexism and woman-hatred. Hip-hop has a looooong history of using women in the most violent, inhumane and disposable ways…. and for what?? To make ourselves seem doper?? `Manlier’?? It’s f*ckin’ embarrassing.

Part of why I still post some of these songs is bcuz of the obvious reason – 99% of our scene’s artists engage in this type of misogyny, in varying degrees, on EVERY record they make. Hopefully, in this specific example, when these young’ns grow a bit, and get more knowledge and critical thinking under their belt, they’ll look back on these periods in their artistic and human development and feel the same thing I feel every time I post one of these promising but poisonous records.
