This song was written and recorded by yours truly, during a time while I practiced what I like to call “involuntary abstinence” (a few psycho ex girlfriends will do that you). Drex, Jelly and Snaz pay homage to the sticky. Nice. On a side note…must be a product of the cheeba cheeba but hip-hop has successfully distorted the meaning of the word prolific. Prolific means “a lot of” or “productive” or “producing in large quantities”. Like, when they say 2Pac was the most prolific artist in hip-hop it simply means that he recorded a lot. So in this case…not sure that a style can be prolific. With the right amount of weed though, I guess anything is possible.
Drex has taken an unorthodox approach to releasing his new music. He plans on releasing one three song EP per month over the next four months. The first single from the project “That Was Then” is called “Funky Kush” featuring Jelly Too Fly.

The chase of perfection, the want of something more, the Porsche 911. The melodic vocals courtesy of Danny Caesar (@DANNYixxi) are given from the point of view of a close friend who can’t help but sense that the quest his friend is about to begin is an ominous one. “I come to you as friend not foe, just thought that I would let you know.”
But it is too late. Our hero is indifferent. Blinded by ambition. Unaware he has already chosen to destroy himself, unaware that he sealed his own fate when he made his mind up. So what was originally supposed to be nothing more than an intervention has become a funeral. We are already at the wake of our hero, peering into the casket, singing, “I thought I told you don’t take it too far”.

20-year-old Haley Small is an R&B-Pop singer/ songwriter / music addict with big talent and big dreams. Striving to make her mark in the music industry, she has been writing, performing, collaborating, recording and trying to expand her repertoire. Haley’s talent was first widely recognized at the tender age of 10 years old when she sang the national anthem at the Sky Dome during a Blue Jay’s game.
Haley trained vocally in Classical Music for four years, and then went on to study Speech Level Singing with Falconer Abraham. Haley has also recently begun training at the Pro Actors Lab in Toronto to enhance her performance and natural acting ability. Her experience recording began at 12-years-old with Toronto’s Juno Award Winning Jazz Producer/Writer/Pianist Eddie Bullen, then continued at EMI Publishing Studios at 14-years-old with Producer/DJ Freq Nasty, and then to various independent studios with different writers and producers in Los Angeles, Toronto and New York and Chicago. Haley is currently now signed to Ebony Sons management, which is owned by DTP Records (Disturbing Tha Peace) and is in the process of writing recording her new music with the help of their team. Haley also records and engineers her own demos independently in her professional home studio in Toronto.
