So far every time I get an email with this girl’s name on it, it immediately makes me smile.
Singer/Songwriter Shi Wisdom releases her second official video for single “EASIER”, produced by EnJ and directed by Danielle Da Silva.
Following her sold out headlining show last month presented by The Known Unknown at Revival in Toronto, The Canadian music scene has been buzzing non-stop about the electrifying performance of MissShi Wisdom. While her live show once again solidified her spot as one of Canada’s leading vocalists and performers, it left her fans and music critics yearning for more. The song “Easier”, which has been on heavy rotation on radio stations city wide marks Shi’s second official video which contains stunning visuals that effortlessly illustrate the essence of Wisdom’s lyrical insight and musical genius.
Shi has been a household name at The Known Unknown event series and we’re humbled to be able to present the world premiere of her newest release “Easier” to the masses. Without further adieu, “Easier” by Shi Wisdom.
Can’t lie. First time I heard of this chick (last year if memory serves correct) I thought the name was really wack and basically thought it was some crazy person just sending out emails (we get a lot of those, lol). All good though. Track + video are super dope. Glad I clicked on it.
Tasha the Amazon — Scallywags (ft. Cola of Wifetaker) – Official Music Video Directed by: Colin G. Cooper | http://colingcooper.tumblr.com/
A bomb in a china shop.
Toronto’s Tasha the Amazon is an artist, producer, and bad gyal. Notorious for rude stage antics and warehouse parties shut down by police raids, her unconventional lyrics deal as much with partying, drugs, and hood mischief as they do with anarchy and civil disobedience.
She’s shared the bill with genre-defining acts like the Wu-Tang’s Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, The Roots, Killer Mike and fellow new-school icons like Action Bronson. Behind the boards, her bold production style has already earned her collaborations with the likes of DJ Green Lantern, Grammy-winner Che Vicious (G.O.O.D. Music) and more.
After cutting her teeth in collabs and collectives, the German-Jamaican powerhouse is dropping her first solo project, FiDiYootDem, in 2013.
Produced by herself and partner Danthrax (together, they form the production duo Bass & Bakery), the project experiments unapologetically with the future of hip hop. Meet the new school.

Oshaun pays homage to Pam Grier, Sylvia Striplin and Junior M.A.F.I.A. in the clip for his new viral joint “Get Money”. Speaking of Pam Grier, was crazy to hear that Foxy Brown called up Pam Grier to ask permission to use the Foxy Brown name before she blew up as an MC. Gotta pay homage always.
Check out my latest Video “Get Money”. Sampled from Junior Mafia and Sylvia Striplin mashup and featuring Clips from the original “Foxy Brown” bad B*tch Pam Grier. Directed by Xpress.
Oshaun has been working on his forthcoming project “Everything O” which is due out later this year. Before releasing the first official single, he collaborated with producer and Director Xpress for a special rendition of Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money”. With additional vocals from the original sample from Sylvia Striplin and combined with the 70’s sound of the record, Xpress decided to incorporate visuals from one of the most influential Blaxploitation and beautiful actresses of the time period in Pam Grier. As everyone knows, her brand of acting and movies revolutionized black film as well as inspired the likes of Foxy Brown etc. So enjoy this Tribute/Mashup/Remix from GSX Music’s Oshaun and Xpress.
