SYPH with the official visual follow up to “Whole Lotta”.
Mississauga rapper SYPH premiered his moneymaking anthem “The Bag” feat. Tracy T last August on HNHH. This morning, SYPH hands HNHH the keys to the premiere of the “The Bag” music video.
“The Bag” drops off SYPH and Tracy T in what appears to be the Mojave Desert. The cinematic backdrop, combined with a dynamic bit of camerawork, only heighten the anticipation in SYPH’s voice: “200 miles on the dash, doing this shit like my last.”

Comments Off on VIDEO: Clairmont The Second – No Warm Up Tour (Episode 1: First Try)
J.O. Mairs with some official viz off his EP ‘Tis The Season.
Following the recent release of his “Tis The Season” EP, J.O. Mairs returns with a new single entitled “You’s A…”. With the first look into J.O.’s forthcoming project, “Trouble Sleeping”, this song showcases another side of Mairs’ versatile skill set. The melodic hook paints a picture and explicates the fact that not all addictions are drug related. The popular relationship status – “it’s complicated” – comes to mind as the story unfolds and the supplier eventually begins to develop an addiction of his own.
In-line with the re-issue of Clairmont’s Quest for Milk and Honey (and I’m guessing something to do with his recent signing to Black Box), the west-end representer re-drops visuals for “A Declaration”.
Teenaged Toronto-based rap phenomenon Clairmont The Second whose Quest for Milk and Honey album was recently voted one of the top 25 Canadian albums of 2016 (#17) by CBC Music has been spreading his unique rap stylings across North America since January 31st as part of the No Warm Up tour with SonReal. As a prelude to the forthcoming release of new music and visuals in 2017 with new label partner Black Box Music (Shad, Classified, SonReal) the re-issued co-directed “A Declaration” video clip by Jorden Lee and Clairmont The Second is one of those cinematic must-see music videos that reads more like a short film than anything, and contains a clever build-up and killer climax (literally). Uber respected on the Toronto music scene as a prolific one man music-and-multi-media army who shoots and edits his own video content, while writing, producing and mixing his own work, this song and video leaves no question as to where the future of Canadian rap creativity and resourcefulness lies. When he raps “me on a mic, that’s a problem” on this buzz track, he really means it. To get inside the mind of the rapidly rising rapper who recently joined the roster of the Feldman Agency, Canada’s largest entertainment booking agency, Clairmont The Second has also just released a new vlog series that will present his arty, unscripted view of the tour as it winds its way through the United States and Canada. “You cannot box this show in. I mess with so many different styles…from the content, to the way I shoot it, to the technicality of the way I edit the videos,” says the artist who participated in Toronto’s first ever TeamBackPack Cypher last year, and was featured on a strong collaboration with Last Gang producer Harrison (“It’s Okay, I Promise”).”One episode could be completely different from the last episode and have a completely different focus or point to it”:
The Quest for Milk and Honey (Black Edition) reissue album out now on Black Box Music features four new bonus songs and is now streaming on Spotify and Apple Music:

Now comes the second video in support of the project, and what better song than “Drop Out,” which features Toronto artist Jimmy Prime. Murda and Jimmy have collaborated a number of times in the past but this marks the first time they are appearing in a video together.
