“A new shining star on Toronto’s production scene” – The FADER

“Super smooth” – i-D Magazine

“Known for his warbly synth and upbeat funk driven aesthetics” – Noisey

“‘Vanilla’ goes a long way toward establishing Harrison’s
versatility without compromising his carefully honed aesthetic” – Stereogum

“Harrison boxes his happiness in sugary instrumentals and wraps it with a cartoon bow”- THUMP

Toronto, ON – August 16, 2016 – After announcing his debut album earlier this summer, Toronto producer Harrison is back to share a new single from the project with Vertigo, featuring a l l i e. The new track is a breezy, early 2000s dance inspired cut, which features vocals by Toronto up-and-comer, a l l i e. Vertigo is now available on all digital retailers and streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Harrison spoke with Pigeons & Planes about the single: “When I first made this song I wasn’t sure if it would remain an instrumental or not. After weeks of overthinking it, I chose to send it to a l l i e. She and I have been chatting collabs for a long time, and I chose this one for her because it seemed like an unusual choice. Traditionally, her music is half the tempo and rooted in RnB and hip hop. I wanted to see what she could do with something that was double the tempo and rooted in funk. What she delivered turned the vibe up 200% with her deliciously harmonized pop melodies, while also keeping it sultry. The woman is a force to be reckoned with. I am very grateful that she’s a part of this record.”

Harrison previously shared two offerings from the album with a couple of stellar collaborations. He first partnered with Clairmont The Second on It’s Okay I Promise, followed by the Ryan Hemsworth feature, Vanilla, which also arrived as a single on Ryan Hemsworth’s Secret Songs label. The third, So Far From Home, arrived as a funky collaboration with Young Guv (Ben Cook of Fucked Up, No Warning).

These diverse singles mesh together as one singular artistic statement on Checkpoint Titanium, which will arrive on September 9th via Last Gang Records. Regarded as one of the most promising young artists in the Toronto music scene, Harrison intends to live up to the hype with his debut album. You can now pre-order Checkpoint Titanium and receive the singles as instant gratification downloads. The album will also be available on vinyl and is now up for pre-order. Check out the full album details below as well as the previously released songs.

NEW VIDEO: Rochester – Boost feat. Hooks (Directed by Pharris Designs)

rez | Video | Thursday, September 8th, 2016

Had the pleasure of chopping it up with this dude the other day. Rochester’s back with the official follow up to KARMAZABXTCH.

Toronto-based rapper Rochester (aka Juice) is no stranger to big stages and shining lights, having supported a slew of A-list urban music talents over the years, both on tour and on spot dates, including Chris Brown, Kanye West, Nas and Snoop Dogg. The debut street single and video “Boost” featuring Hooks, produced by Dzy (Dej Loaf, Kevin Gates, Little Simz, $ha) is a timely pro-woman anthem that wittily dissects how people can fall victim to false body image norms that are further magnified by social media. The single has already peaked at number six on Apple Music’s “Hot In The Six” chart right below Drake, Torey Lanez and Roy Woods.

This fall 2016 Rochester gets set to release his forthcoming EP Cowabunga, by far his most anticipated and ambitious release to date. Cowabunga sees him reconnecting with Grammy-winning producer Boi 1da (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Eminem) on his forthcoming single “Grateful” after experiencing much success with their last collaboration “Pull Up” that featured a widely shared remix with Canadian rap icon Kardinal Offishall and Latin Grammy Award nominee Fito Blanko among others.

NEW MUSIC: Jasmine – Late Nights + Leave You Alone + You Thought

rez | Music | Wednesday, September 7th, 2016

a3637607068_10

Introduction to 88 Days member, Jasmine. Dope.

Scarborough native and 88 Days Of Fortune member Yasmine, hits hard releasing two heartfelt loosies ‘Leave You Alone’ and ‘Late Nights’ in anticipation of her debut album’No Squad In The Wild’.

‘Leave You Alone’ opens with a sample of an explosive argument c/o Justice (Janet Jackson) + Lucky (Tupac Shakur) from the 1993 cult classic Poetic Justice, expertly foreshadowing the theme to this Canis Major produced track.

While ‘Late Nights’ produced by D’Artizt, continues the theme as Yasmine’s smooth raps tells a story of lusting for the wrong people and ultimately getting trapped in unhealthy relationships.
