This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we welcome the legendary music video director, Director X (formerly known as Little X), to the Upper West Side! X, who helmed masterpieces for Drake, Jay Z, Kanye, Rihanna, Sean Paul, Aaliyah, Nelly, and so many more, talks about his roots in Toronto, growing up on religion and comic books, and the prophesy of Drake Aubrey Graham. X discusses his journey into music video production, how he developed his own style, and the speed at which other directors stole his aesthetic. X also goes into detail on creative collaboration, TV and film production, how he reacts to social media outreach, and how to work with product placement in 2016, in this fascinating episode!
This played at King Reign’s celebration of life on Sunday afternoon – which was one of the most eye-opening and moving events I’ve ever been to. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and we thank him for his contributions to the community, to the arts and to hip-hop. RIP.
Adam Bomb paying homage. Shouts to my dude Kaid on the hook.
Dedicated to and Inspired by the late Sergio Iannetta.
He was an inspiration. A perfect example of how to be a man. He worked hard like a man should. Adored his wife and guided his children like a man should. United his family and made them proud like a man should. Every word he spoke was accompanied with importance and love.
Sometimes I lose motivation but this time, a motivator. With all that’s happening in both my world and the entire one, we needed people like him more than ever. A kind, wise soul that turned any unsettled moment simple and peaceful. He was a friend and a mentor but more than that, he made me believe.
In myself. In others. In good.
He taught me that life, as unfair as it continues to be, is worth fighting for and showed me how beautiful it is when you build yours the right way.
I miss him already.
Rest peacefully Serge. Thank you for being in my life and changing it.

VIBE /vīb/ noun: a person’s emotional state or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others.
“A vibe should be protected, especially when it’s the one you want to be in. It’s the environment you create for yourself to exist in. It’s yours. And yet without reason at all, some people come along and want to ruin it. Don’t let them.” – Leila Dey
With her first summer release of “VIBE” Leila teams up with long time friends and collaborators Matt Lawrence and Hakeem Roze, with the addition of Johnathan Gateretse, who you would have seen most recently on stage with her playing keys.
Leila Dey, expands her style to let you know she’s not to be kept in a box.
