We don’t typically post interviews / content with artists who aren’t Canadian but like 80% of this is Ghost talking about our local talent / his new initiative to find a new Canadian artist for his label / his collabo with BADBADNOTGOOD. Plus I get a chance to big up the homies Mark & Jem and of course Flex Farley, lol.

Just getting familiar with new artist Don Meeno. Shouts to ‘Sauga. Get caught up with dude on his SoundCloud page.
NEW MUSIC: DON MEENO – WEST END Producer: Beat Busta
(Toronto, Canada) – Back with the second installment of his weekly series #MeenoMondays, Toronto-based artist Don Meeno returns smoother than ever with another fresh recording titled, “West End.” With a classic jazz-laced instrumental courtesy of fellow Toronto producer Beat Busta, Meeno let’s go of his “Low Key” storytelling from last week, and gets on his “jet life” vibe with with “West End.” Throughout the single, Don Meeno takes listeners on a drive through Toronto’s West End known as Mississauga, and highlights the experiences of the hustle in Sauga City. Bringing more familiarity to the West End, Don Meeno featured it’s signature Marilyn Monroe Towers in his “Front Runners” video, while you PartyNextDoor has also highlighted the city in “Break From Toronto.” With that being said, sit back and enjoy the ride through the “West End.”

______________
Montreal beat king Shash’U kicked off 2015 with his debut Fool’s Gold EP Thru Da Night, launching his inventive, muscular take on dance music worldwide, and racking up props from underground peers like Kaytranada, gatekeepers at MTV and BBC Radio, and sweaty fans around the globe in the process.
Most producers would be content to repeat a successful formula on their follow-up release, but on the new PWRFNK EP (available 03/31), Shash’U blows up his own playbook entirely, blazing forward with a wildly self-assured sound that slaps futuristic, heavy bass over ’80s-inspired electro grooves worthy of Axel F. Grab a taste for yourself with the heavy breathing bump of “PXXXY,” and stay tuned for the full nine-track PWRFNK EP out 3/31 on Fool’s Gold (along with a limited edition, deluxe vinyl edition collecting Thru Da Night and PWRFNK on two 12″s along with a fold-out poster of the wraparound sleeve art by acclaimed illustrator Ron Wimberly).
