TORONTO – This Friday, November 7, Saukrates performs for The Toronto Argonauts halftime show, with longtime beatmaker (and fellow Torontonian) Rich Kidd.
In celebration of all things sports, he previews two brand new tracks on SoundCloud, packaged as a digital 7″ and available for purchase onDecember 2. Side A tune “Practice” comes with built in beats from Mellenius (who Soxx collaborated with previously on his “Wednesday“/”Hot Like Summer”/”Salt n’ Pepper” tracks) as well as a sample of eleven-time NBA All-Star Allen Iverson off the top. He says “seeing as good, classic-style, hip hop is hard to come by these days i figured i’d keep my sword sharp!” Side B tune “Elixir” is a continuation of his song “Amani” (the title track off his latest EP.)

Really looking forward to taking this one in. Junia‘s been on the grind for a MINUTE now so to say this is welcomed is an understatement. CONGRATS FAM!
Following suit a slew of teasers over the summer, Junia-T finally unveils his highly anticipated LP, Eye See You. Premiering on OkayPlayer, the self-produced project features Little Simz, LordQuest, Franc Grams, and more.
“This project is a collage of vibes reflecting all that I’ve been through in the past year and a half. A big thank you to the Universe for holding a brova down… Eye See You,” said Junia-T.
Throughout Eye See You, Junia-T’s raw prose is smoovely blended with traces of psychedelia, neo soul, and futuristic vibes; all while reviving the best of backpacker nostalgia. The artist FKA Ayah makes her full length debut as Merna (her real name) with “The Calling” – a 10 track project of hauntingly beautiful vocals, emotions and cinematic sounds, marking the artist’s arrival to new sonic territories. With executive production duties handled by Makai Black, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and the artist herself, the album is compelling, ambitious, and deserving of serious attention: locally and outside our homegrown borders.
