New visuals from Tona!

“CARPE DIEM” out now!

Following the recent release of his well-received album ‘CARPE DIEM,’ Tona continues its successful campaign by releasing a video for the second officially single, “Show Me Some Love.” On the heels of his Juno nomination with Naturally Born Strangers, Tona once again teams up with follow nominee Rich Kidd who not only offers parting words on the single, but also its boisterous production. Directed by Zac Facts, the video serves as an extension of his previously released “Long Winded Road,” and gives viewers a look at his struggle with rediscovering that passion for authentic music.

“Show Me Some Love” is only available on the digital version of ‘CARPE DIEM,’ and can be purchased on ITunes, Google Play, Spotify and many other online retailers. Do not deprive yourself of the HD Experience!

Enjoy, and thank you for the continued support with all of the releases..

“Though the saying dates back to the year 27 B.C., ‘Carpe Diem’ is an exhortation to live fully in the moment without brooding over the past or worrying about the future.” – DJ Booth

Toronto-native, Tona, returns with ‘CARPE DIEM’, his first solo project since the release of Silversrping Crescent in 2013. Heralded by the single “Long Winded Road”, the 13-track album features hard line yet harmonious production courtesy of longtime collaborators Lyve and Rich Kidd, as well as Grammy-nominated Paperboy Fabe and Tona himself. Etched with personal tales of self-accomplishment, relationships and hometown pride, CARPE DIEM shows a side of the Toronto vet that has yet to shine. In classic hip-hop bar-stacking form, this album shows growth in content and lyrical maturity that seizes the musical landscape yesterday, today and tomorrow. It’s a rare window into the complex artist and person that is Tona.

Tona has had an illustrious career in the Canadian and international hip-hop market over the past several years, both as an independent artist and in associated groups Freedom Writers and Naturally Born Strangers. Tona has consistently created a body of work and professional foundation worthy of media attention from outlets such as Much Music, Exclaim!, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC)., Source and XXL Magazine. Additionally, Tona has also shared the stage with critically acclaimed hip hop greats – M.O.P., Nas and Wu-Tang duo Redman and Method Man to name a few. Currently, Tona is a key collaborator in the legendary Billy Danze’s (of M.O.P.) We Build Hits movement, which is an international coalition of artists and producers chosen for their drive, creativity and ability to stand strong in today’s competitive music market.

Most recently, Tona has been recognized for his contributions to a 2014 JUNO Award nominated ‘Rap Recording of the Year’, acknowledging his commitment to artistic and technical excellence in all aspects of music. With ‘CARPE DIEM’ in the stores today, Tona will continue the year with touring and collaborative projects throughout 2015.

Drew Howard of the “Get Home Safe” crew (with Jazz Cartier & Derek Wise) drops visuals for “Uncle Tona” off his upcoming “Drive, The Valley of Dissipation” EP.

Would love to know the background on the Tona reference tho… cuz from my vantage point it’s kinda like a BK artist doing a song called Uncle Jeru.

Produced by Omito Beats.

Tona x Sese x Lyve. Together.

As Toronto artist Tona continues to prepare for the release of his upcoming album ‘CARPE DIEM’, he has followed up the recent release of “Ol Time Sake” with the visuals for “HOOKER”, a promo single that will not appear on the album. The song, produced by Lyve and with co-production from Tona himself, features fellow Up-North rhyme slayer Sese. Whether you interpret the track literally or figuratively speaking, it’s undeniably raw and uncut expression either way. Be on the lookout for the release of ‘CARPE DIEM’s first official single, as well as more information regarding the project set to be released in the upcoming weeks.

More good good from the dynamic duo that is Via Linez and Lyve. Tona and Korry Deez on the assist. Full DJ Pack right there on the Bandcamp.

Tommy Gunn tho.

Hard not to forget one of the most memorable street fight scenes of the 90’s, when Balboa almost took an ‘L’ to the young and hungry street fighter turned Pro boxer, Tommy Gunn.

For this round, Via Linez calls on the assist from Toronto rhyme-brawlers, TONA Tencreddi (Natrualy Born Strangers/Freedom Writers) and Korry Deez (IRS/Monolith). Together the trio do what you expect, step in with aggressive wordplay and smash the Lyve produced banger.

Bonus cut off one of the best albums out of the Mega for 2013 (along with the FW joint which interestingly also features Tona and Bomb).

The entire NBS team hits the MOD Club stage this Friday and there’s no question in my mind it will be a memorable one for the Toronto hip-hop history books.

Toronto’s finest rhyme spitters Rich KiddTona, and Adam Bomb have teamed up with Bryan Espiritu of Toronto based clothing line TheLegendsLeague to form Naturally Born Strangers, the audio component to the TheLegendsLeague’s F/W 13 collection avaialble   at Livestock in Toronto (116 Spadina Ave.), at retailers across Canada, and online at www.thelegendsleague.com.
The collaborative team just dropped a bonus cut from the project “Drugs” available on physical copies of the mixtape that will be given out at their debut headlining show Friday January 31st at Mod Club in Toronto along with limited edition items from the new line.
