I felt impulsed to tell this story cause he really was my first “last guy to beat” in my first ever live on stage battle, many years ago.. After telling the story, he turns around and hits me with a “first time” story of his own.. Classic Toronto Battle Rap.

What happens when you realize that “A Dollar and A Dream” has turned into “A Penny and a Nightmare”? Ottawa-born, Toronto-based rapper Harvey Stripes explores the concept on the follow-up to his 2011 debut.
Boasting 16 tracks, “A Penny and a Nightmare” sees Harvey speaking on everything for which he has become known — money, cars, exotic women and a highbrow lifestyle. But it also delves into deeper and grittier issues that include greed, abortion, loyalty, the justice system and more. “‘A Penny and a Nightmare’ is just me being real, being raw, being a genuine artist telling my story with hopes that the listeners can relate to what I’ve gone through,” says Harvey. “I feel like ‘A Penny and a Nightmare’ — even with the title of the album — shows that as glamorous as this life may seem, there’s still nightmares.”
