The Leadertape No. 02 AJ Saudin. A Shane Stirling Film. The Leadertape comes from my passion for storytelling. Not of fantasy, or of mythology, but of reality and the truth of the moment. Painting a picture through the senses to bring forth a vivid connection to the people, places and things that inspire me. My medium has changed from pencil and pad, to paint and canvas to pixel and screen, but the motivation has always been the same; to capture the moment forever. The participants of ‘The Leadertape’ I believe to be leaders. Leaders of thought, art and culture. My path has crossed with these people at various points in our journey and I want to share with you their stories so that you to can cross paths with theirs. Moving Pictures. Moving Personalities.
AJ is best known as “Connor” from “Degrassi: The Next Generation.” He plays a young man with Aspergers Syndrome, a disorder within the autistic spectrum. The empathy that he brings to this role is one that carries over to his real life. The honesty, passion & kindness AJ exudes is one that hits you to your core. He’s the kind of young man I hope my 8 year old son grows up to be like; although he is quiet by nature, his sincerity is evident in his passing glances.
Just a remix I felt like doing (which is a mixture of Camp Lo’s song “Luchini” & Angie Stone’s “Lover’s Ghetto”) before the release of my upcoming free project entitled “Open Doors” with 10 new original songs.

If you ever heard me rant about the fact that there are kids in this city that you probably never heard of selling out the Opera House with no traditional buzz – this was the dude I was talking about. He did that at 17 and if I recall correctly he had something like 400 twitter followers when I checked back then (don’t know why I didn’t follow him then either.. if I did I would’ve caught this when it dropped earlier in September, smh).
And hey, I ain’t saying he’s the second coming of anything, just that: (i) there are artists with 10 times the # of ‘followers’ he had back then that still can’t sell out the Opera House, (ii) I’d put his 1000+ followers up against alot of those artists’ and feel pretty confident, and (iii) there are movements upon movements in this city happening over and below all our heads, which is why we always stay humble over here and enjoy the ride as if we’d just hopped on it today.
