Toronto-based rapper Jazz Cartier and Atlanta hitmaker Mike WiLL Made-It have teamed up for a pulse-thumping new song, “Nobody’s Watching,” available now with Red Bull Sound Select on Spotify, Soundcloud and Apple Music. The song is part of a two-track digital release that also includes “Make A Mess feat. Ro Ransom”, out August 23rd with Red Bull Sound Select.
Speaking about the tracks, Cartier says “ ‘Nobody’s Watching’ as well as the upcoming “Make A Mess” are cool vibes that stemmed from me and Mike’s recording session in LA a while back. Happy they’re finally out, a little something for my fans until Fleurever comes.”
One of 2017’s most buzzed about new voices in hip hop, Jazz Cartier recently won Canada’s prestigious Juno Award for Rap Record of the Year for Hotel Paranoia. He’s been hailed as “Toronto’s next big hip-hop hero” (I-D,) named “one of six hip-hop artists to look out for in 2017” (Forbes) and “one of the leaders of a new wave in hip-hop”(Noisey). Gawd damn! Just like that…new ROJO! For the uninitiated I would argue that Rochelle Jordan was one of, if not the first, artists in the city who was on that “new wave”. And I’m talking like 4-5 years ago. Definitely ahead of the curve. She’s also one of the only artists (along with Unbuttoned) to cover Aaliyah with grace. Happy to have her back with this new joint! Dope.
