NEW VIDEO: L – Follow Me (Directed by Jason Matos)
New joint from L called “Follow Me”.
Here comes L! Also known as The 12th Letter, this Toronto native releases the video for “Follow Me” off his mixtape Just Rap. “Follow Me” focuses on the tough decision many young men have to make between selling drugs and surviving. Tapping his own personal experiences, L deftly illustrates the trials and tribulations of this reality. Paranoia, anxiety and adrenaline are all heard in a flowing narrative that puts the audience inside the mind of a young man who’s turned to drug dealing. This is a story about lifestyle, hope and the shattering reality of what can happen when the street life takes a wrong turn.
The video is arguably L’s most ambitious effort to date and was shot by Jason Matos inside an old Toronto metal shop. Matos is best known for his work alongside artists like The Roots, Nelly, Trey Songz and Vado, with his videos charting on BET and MuchMusic.
“I attack the mind state of being on the street,” says L, who is currently working on his debut LP. “You have to be in a certain headspace to step out on the street and try to make money. With this song, I wrestle with this thought process and show you every step of my journey.”
