NEWS: Documentary on George Clinton’s Toronto musical roots airs today on CBC Radio 1 & 2

When we had the honor of talking to George Clinton back in ’06 for OTA Live!, the Godfather casually mentioned the time he spent living in Toronto, and his spaced-out encounters with Bootsy in the west-end. I’m pretty sure all our jaws dropped after that story. Personally I hadn’t known anything about Mr. Clinton’s connection to the Mega before, and after that interview I’d always wonder why the details of that Toronto connection hadn’t been officially researched and presented as a story. Well music historian and Exclaim! music editor David Dacks’ radio documentary “Funk Getting Ready To Roll” pretty much covers that concern and I urge everyone to check it out.

The doc airs today (Sunday, August 12) at 3 p.m. on CBC Radio 2, and 9 p.m. on CBC Radio 1.
