Toronto’s own, The Theorist, just released his new project “Riddles of The Mind”, an instrumental EP combining both R&B and Experimental sounds. If you’ve never heard of his previous work, like “Music Of The Night”, or “Ascension”, do yourself a favor and take a listen.
Got the intro the other day, now here’s the official promo clip for new artist Shyi‘s debut mixtape D.R.E.A.M.S. The Mixtape Vol. 1 – Lucid which is available today!
Dope to see the HERO fam still on the grind. Here’s the details via HHC:
We haven’t posted any new material from HERO for a minute now but E-Dot and Darp Malone are back with a dope new movement. Both artists are memebers of the TingTryer collective which recently dropped the Take Me To Your Leader project. Check out the video for the lead single, “If I Could I Would,” featuring Tia Thomas. TingTyer includes E-Dot (MC), Darp Malone (Producer/MC/Singer), Michael Bain (Producer/MC), Jerome Blackwell (DJ), Tia Thomas (Singer), Clae’nce Jo (MC), 360 (Producer/DJ) and Isaac Sawyer (MC/Singer). TingTyer is brought to you by Thirsty Music.
Rest in peace to all the victims we’ve lost to gun violence – in the present and the past; a speedy mental and physical recovery to the victims that have survived; and our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to their families, friends and loved ones.

T-Rexxx gets some clarification straight from OVO regarding his and 40’s involvement with the upcoming Aaliyah project, and so far it looks like they will be helming this posthumous album.
Personally I feel like the online hate’s a bit premature and knee-jerk. Aaliyah has ALWAYS worked with other producers besides Timbo & Missy on her albums (of which there are only really two ‘Timbo/Missy’ albums – unless you include the “Romeo Must Die” soundtrack). Yes, the “Aaliyah” album is an entirely Timbo/Missy album if you consider the Bassment crew (Static, Tweet, Ginuwine etc. – Tank, by association) an extension of their sound; and without question she’s done her best work with the Timbo/Missy/Bassment team (altho she’s got classic songs, pre-Timbo/Missy/Bassment crew with R. Kelly, and showed she could make great records w/o Timbo/Missy with “I Don’t Wanna”). But it’s also important to note that Timbaland’s sound has changed since his time with Aaliyah; so a pretty solid argument could be made that 40’s style is much more suited to the Aaliyah we love than Timbaland’s current 2012 sound. Still, I’ll say it again: given that (i) 40 is highly influenced by Timbo/Missy, (ii) both 40 and Drake have expressed a genuine admiration for Aaliyah AND Timbo/Missy’s musical legacy, and (iii) 40 and Drake have exhibited a respectable level of diligence with their own production track record, I think we should all just wait till we hear/see more.
All that said, I hope they keep a humble demeanor throughout the PR process for this project.
I’m hungry. Shouts to Dirtwork and the whole Mount Real tho.
New record from two of Canada’s up & coming artists Raz Fresco & Milli Millz. This track is called “Chef Boyardee” and will appear on Montreal producer Dirtwork’s project called “From Tragedy 2 Triumph” scheduled to drop in this winter.
