After a nice initial push Sese lets off his latest project.
5 months after releasing one of 2015’s most well-received mixtapes/albums. Canadian Hip Hop artist SESE is back to destroy his competition on his brand new EP, “The Cell Saga.” Transforming once again into another one of the meanest super-villains from Japanese anime series,Dragon Ball Z. SESE carries on with the DBZ theme of his last project, showing the parallels between the competitiveness of the rap game and the battles between characters in the anime series. Showing his versatility and raising his power level over production by Pops, 2oolman, Chef Byer, Ceaza Leon, plus more. The EP features Chicago-Drill artist Chaboki, Ft. Lauderdale Anime rapper Anonymuz, and Toronto standouts Jason Packs, and Hardbody.
Today, SESE and the Nightmare Klub collective bring to you a brand new EP entitled, “The Cell Saga.” Along with the first single off the project, “Perfect Cell.” Watch as SESE transforms into Perfect Cell and totally destroys this Pops (The Game, Machine Gun Kelly, SonReal) production. The anime inspired video was shot by Frank Douglasss (0therworld Films/Nightmare Klub). Released January 11th, 2016 the video has accumulated 50, 114 views on Youtube and Worldstarhiphop.

We close out 2015 with an unreleased throwback project from MTL’s Karma & Lotus.
“Montreal hip hop artists Karma Atchykah and Jai Nitai Lotus collaborated for over a decade, combining their talents to produce what some people have called “the Montreal Black Star.”

A little bit about us, Montreal and The Honest Truth LP:
“Karma and I have been working together since meeting in 2002 at a talent show. We really hit it off in terms of influences and style and over the years we shared many moments on stage and in the studio. We recorded “The Honest Truth” LP in between 2003-2007 and was supposed to drop 2008 (on PTR records), as a follow-up to our “The Notice EP” (2006), but we both got lost in solo projects and it never happened. After the real strong response to our “Monday” song/ video (off my ‘One- Off’ series) a couple weeks ago we felt like it would be a good holiday-freebie, before the New Year.
This project is really close to our hearts and was recorded during a special time in the scene here in Montreal. Turf Builder (pre-Art Beat, similar idea) was going on, Karma and I were doing monthlys at Jello Bar (closed now) and really getting a lot of people hip to our sound. The music really speaks for itself: soulful, honest, raw hip hop shit. I produced the the entire album and Karma and I go back and forth on the rhymes. Not a thing has been changed to this project and it still sounds fresh to the ear. The few select cats who had copies of it over the years would always mention it to us like “when are y’all going to put out The Honest Truth?! its still so relevant today”…testimony to timeless music perhaps?:) Karma and I sat down recently and listened to it to make sure it was a move we would both still felt good about taking. When listening we were surprised on how some of the shit we were rapping about is more relevant to us today then it was then…music is funny like that. “
This concert tape just surfaced mysteriously and it’s awesome.
This recently surfaced concert tape seems to be an alternate assembly of Notes to Self, playing a live gig in LA with some special guests. When the group came up on the bootleg recording, they decided to press a limited run of 150 cassettes themselves. Here is a stream of the audio rip and the tape’s amazing fan art, which captures one of the live set’s recurring motifs—the universally traumatic experience of your blue jeans staining your white Air Force 1s.

Take in the latest from producer extraordinaire, Big Sproxx. The album features some new joints, some previously unreleased ones and some re-worked chunes from the catalog. Took in the first 30 seconds of the Progress joint and can already tell that the album is going to be on a certain level. Looking forward to taking this one in.
