Jae Ari hoping 2016 will be the year he rises to the cream of the crop.
Starting off 2016 with a clean slate, as promised, Jae Ari debuts hisSammi Morelli assisted-single off his upcoming untitled project. “Cream of The Crop” (the mantra which forms the chorus), according to Ari is what it feels like to be a true MC. Highlighting his trials & tribulations it’s a welcoming indication that Jae’s lucidly-geared polysyllabic style can and will compete among his peers in this industry in which he finds himself.

A quick look at some of the great work Mr. Gibson is doing in the community. I could never imagine a rapper coming to visit my school back in the days, lol.

New Junia meets Brisk meets Sproxx.
TORONTO –Junia-T kicks off 2016 with a brand new single “My, My, My” featuring Briskinthehouse. Over laid-back production by Sproxx, the Sauga rapper drops gems about the current state affairs. This is the first single off of his upcoming album,Son of a (Drum)mer.
“This song is about living how you want to. Despite who the world may want you to be, never lose self,” said Junia-T.
Last year Junia-T returned to the scene with his debut Eye See You. Premiering on OkayPlayer, the albumsmoovely blendsJunia-T’s raw prose with traces of psychedelia, neo soul, and futuristic vibes; all while reviving the best of backpacker nostalgia. Featuring Little Simz, LordQuest, and more, the project was heavily tipped by DJBooth.com, The Source, and 2DopeBoyz to name a few. Fans can buy the album on iTunes, or purchase a limited edition physical copy via Bandcamp.

It might not be the lane of hip-hop that’s considered “cool” these days but it shouldn’t be forgotten that URBNET has been contributing to the city’s / country’s scene for 17 years now. I can’t co-sign all the artists on the label but there have always been a couple of great ones and definitely some solid releases over the years. Here’s the latest compilation as part of their “Underground Hip-Hop” series.
The URBNET branded Underground Hip-Hop compilation series returns in 2016 with Volume 9. This fourteen track collection features new music from Evil Ebenezer, Moka Only, Elaquent, Myka 9 and Factor as well as tracks from Animal Nation, Matt Brevner, Philly Moves, Swamp Thing, Fortunato and more of your favourite underground hip hop artists from the URBNET roster.
